Leendert is een liedjesschrijver uit Amsterdam. Een domineeszoon die het geloof van zijn vader verloor en iets wat daarop leek terug vond in de muziek. Hij is een laatbloeier en een doe-het-zelver die zingt over duivels, spraakverwarring en profeten. Zijn muziek is talig en beeldend, kaal en poëtisch.
